About brand
Makeup artist and beauty blogger Huda Kattan launched Huda Beauty in 2013. It started with a line of false eyelashes, funded by a $6,000 loan from her sister Alya and first sold at Sephora in The Dubai Mall. The lashes took off fast, and the brand soon grew into full makeup: eyeshadow palettes, lip products, complexion, mascara and setting powder.
The story goes back a few years further. In 2010 Huda started a beauty blog and began posting tutorials online. That mix of practical tips and honest conversation built the community the brand still leans on today. Huda Beauty became one of the first influencer-founded brands on Sephora shelves and grew into one of the retailer’s top performers worldwide.
It’s best known for richly pigmented color stories and formulas that suit very different makeup styles. Fan favorites include the Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder, #FauxFilter complexion products, Power Bullet lipsticks, Legit Lashes mascara and eyeshadow palettes like Rose Quartz, Desert Dusk and the Nude Obsessions minis.
2025 turned out to be a big year. In June, Huda Kattan bought back the minority stake that private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners had held since 2017, making Huda Beauty fully founder-owned again. Very few global beauty brands can say that. She runs the company as co-CEO alongside her husband, Christopher Goncalo, while Alya leads social strategy. Earlier that year, beauty comparison site Cosmetify ranked Huda Beauty the most popular beauty brand of the first quarter of 2025.
Today the products are sold internationally through major beauty retailers and the brand’s official online channels.
